Terms of Use

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a legally binding contract to use the Site. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. The Site is available to users in Canada and the United States.

Your Local Dental is an online dental directory that allows patients to search for and review dental practitioners, and allows dental professionals to claim, manage, and promote their listings. We do not provide dental advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified dental professional for clinical guidance.

Dental practitioners may claim a free basic listing or upgrade to a paid listing tier ("Premium Listing"). Free listings are provided as-is with no guarantee of placement or availability.

Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe, Inc. By subscribing to a Premium Listing you also agree to Stripe's Services Agreement and Stripe's Privacy Policy. We do not store payment card details; all payment data is handled by Stripe.

Premium Listing subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your Dentist Portal account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for unused time unless required by applicable consumer protection law.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance.

Annual subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of the initial purchase if you have not used the premium features. Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. Refunds required by applicable Canadian or US consumer protection legislation will be honoured. To request a refund, contact billing@yourlocaldental.com.

Dentists who claim a listing are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information — including credentials, specialties, hours, insurance plans, and contact details — is accurate, current, and not misleading. We reserve the right to remove or correct content that we reasonably believe is inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of applicable professional or advertising standards.

Patient reviews and ratings submitted through the Site must reflect genuine first-hand experiences. Posting fake, defamatory, or commercially motivated reviews is strictly prohibited and may result in account suspension and legal action.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest data from the Site without our written consent.
• Submit false, fraudulent, or impersonating content or account information.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, or system.
• Use the Site to send unsolicited commercial communications (spam).
• Violate any applicable federal, provincial, or state law.

All content on the Site not provided by users — including design, copy, logos, and code — is the property of North Media and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law. You may not reproduce or distribute any Site content without our prior written permission.

The Site and its contents are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any dentist profile information. We expressly disclaim any liability for reliance on information found on the Site for clinical, diagnostic, or treatment decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, North Media shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, including any reliance on listing information or reviews. Our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or CAD $100, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless North Media and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Calgary, Alberta, conducted in English, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Users in the United States acknowledge that the Site is operated from Canada, and agree that Canadian law applies to any disputes.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason in our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Site ceases immediately.

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via notice on the Site or by email to registered users. Continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
